Employment as Medical Transcription
Interview Help

This is the really exciting part of finding employment as medical transcription. You finally get an email or a phone call from a medical transcription company saying they are interest in talking to you.A little word of advice here. Give your cell phone as the primary contact, make sure it is fully charged, and carry it with you. Transcription companies have a lot of applicants that they are going through and, if you are lucky enough to get a call, be prepared! And if you do get a call, make sure you can get to a quiet spot, without distractions. Medical transcription office

According to the hiring manager for a well-known medical transcription company, using bad grammar during a telephone interview is a red flag and screaming at children during the interview is a total black mark! Why? Because it is an indicator of whether you will be too distracted at home to do your job effectively.

Be prepared to answer questions on which transcription platforms you have worked on (if any) and which medical transcription reference books you have on hand and how current they are. If you are new, I personally would say you will order the most current ones when you see which specialty you will be typing. The books are expensive and there is no point in stocking up on gastroenterology and gynecology word books and find out that you will be typing sleep studies!

Again, as I have said elsewhere on this site, when it comes to finding employment as medical transcription, be organized! If you receive an email with further instructions, move it to the appropriate folder and follow whatever directions it gives you as the next step in your job application process.
